Taylor + Pat had an incredible Hurricane Ridge Elopement, it was an absolute pleasure being their Olympic National Park photographer.
Truthfully, I don’t even know where to start, so I’ll just start from the begining — Taylor and I have known each other for many years, but before her + Pat had asked me to photograph their elopement last September, we had never met. Thank goodness for internet friends, right? The three of us met at my favorite coffee shop in my town, they told me about their vision, and I mean it when I say I was ready to hop on a plane to Washington in that exact moment.
This trip was five days of good company, insane views, a beautiful elopement with freaking SNOW during Taylor + Pat’s vows — sunsets, beaches, The Princess Bride, sushi, the very first Starbucks, honestly a lof of Jack in the Box (no shame), Bella Swan’s famour truck from Twilight, and lots of LOVE.
Thanks to Taylor + Pat I was able to check my first elopement off of my bucket list, and I could not have imagined it any other way. Olympic National Park; Hurricane Ridge, Rialto Beach…ALL OF IT is absolutely unreal and I will be back. Before this I had already known I was passionate about elopements, but this experience exceeded my expecations.
Elopements are so special. Yes, the ceremony itself is incredibly intimate, but I spent five days with Taylor + Pat, now THAT’S inimate. They are one of the most in love couples I have ever met, and the entire trip their love just radiated through the walls of the Airbnb and all over Olympic National Park — nothing else mattered but them, and that’s how it should be.
Their faith and trust in me with their images is something I will forever hold close to my heart, and their friendship means just as much.
Taylor + Pat, I love you both, I appreciate you both, I cherish the hell out of you both. Thank you.
